Hong Kong - Pop star Gillian Chung has been cut out of award-winning director Chen Kaige's Peking opera movie, Mei Lanfang, months after lewd photos of her were leaked online.

Her manager confirmed on Monday that her scenes as Fu Zhifang, wife of the late Peking opera legend Mei, had been snipped, said Apple Daily.

'Gillian respects the decision of the director and Mei Lanfang's family. She is happy to have played a part in this performance,' said her manager.
