Boeing strike won't hit F-15 delivery

By Teh Joo Lin

ST LOUIS (Missouri): Delivery of the 24 F-15SG fighter fleet is expected to be completed on schedule in 2012, unaffected by a recent strike at Boeing, according to a senior company executive yesterday.

The first batch of four to six jets will be handed over to the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) next year.

'The last delivery is in 2012. There should be no delay whatsoever,' said president of Boeing Military Aircraft Chris Chadwick.

RSAF's next fighter

THE first of 24 Boeing F-15SG advanced fighter planes for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) was rolled out at the Boeing Aircraft Delivery Service Centre in St Louis, Missouri, on Monday.

The aircraft is currently undergoing test flights before delivery next year. While the first batch will be delivered next year, they will not be storming across Singapore skies just yet.

The twin-seater planes will be sent to an RSAF detachment in Idaho in the US, where pilots will hone their skills on the air force's new weapon. Delivery of all 24 planes is expected to be completed in 2012, said a senior Boeing executive.
