SINGAPORE'S fast-growing links with China's thriving port city of Ningbo near Shanghai are set to get a further boost at a major promotional and networking event being held here this week. The three-day event, starting today at Raffles City Convention Centre, will witness the signing of 15 agreements to jump-start investment projects in Ningbo.

'We aim to promote cooperation in the fields of ports, logistics, trade, finance and tourism between Ningbo and Singapore,' said the vice-mayor of Ningbo city, Mr Wu He Min, in Mandarin.

'As a port city with over 1,000 years of international trade history, Ningbo boasts free trade port zones and an international port hub for container shipping. We hope to promote mutual trade cooperation and friendly exchanges with Singapore,' he added.
