Hong Kong - Character actor Fong Lung, who played Chow Yun Fat's arch enemy in the 1989 hit God Of Gamblers, died of lung cancer in a Chinese hospital last Friday, said reports. He was 54.

Ming Pao Daily News quoted his manager as saying he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in May, after he saw a doctor about a persistent cough.

The actor sought treatment in Wuhan, Hubei province, but by the time he was admitted to hospital in Xian, Shaanxi province, two weeks ago, he could not speak and did not leave any last words, his manager said.
