SINGAPORE'S exports suffered their biggest decline in six years last month, in the latest evidence that the global financial crisis is fast eroding consumer demand in major markets around the world.
Non-oil domestic exports slumped 15.3 per cent last month to $13.4 billion from October last year, trade promotion agency IE Singapore said in a statement yesterday.
This was the sixth straight monthly fall following a 5.7 per cent drop in September. Economists had expected a much milder 8.2 per cent drop.
