SINGAPORE'S women have won bronze in their debut at the Doha Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships, finishing behind giants Japan and South Korea on Sunday.

The Republic's chances were boosted by the absence of favourites China.

Head delegate Lee Hong Chuan said of the team's bronze medal: 'This is definitely the biggest win for us. It's even better than the gold at the last South-east Asia Games.'
