The Straits Times
Replacement killer

By Terrence Voon

CALL it luck if you will, but Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, the Singaporean who conquered the world with a bowling ball, was not even supposed to represent her country at the AMF World Cup last week.

That honour originally belonged to her teammate and close friend Cherie Tan, the Singapore International Open winner who had won an internal roll-off organised by the Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF).

Each country is allowed to send only two keglers - one male and one female - to the World Cup, and Tan got the nod, together with Lee Yu-Wen.
