Low's financial know-how comes in handy

BANKING on his background in the financial industry, International Sailing Federation vice-president Low Teo Ping helped grow the world body's reserves through shrewd investments, from 700,000 pounds (S$1.6 million) in 2004 to over 1 million pounds today.

Low, who served concurrently in those four years as ISAF treasurer, was re-elected to a second term as vice-president last weekend.

And the 63-year-old senior adviser at Citibank has set himself a new target over the next four years: to help develop the sport further.
