IT IS ironic that on the eve of what could be Woodlands Wellington's finest hour, the team will break up after tonight's Singapore Cup football final against Singapore Armed Forces FC at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

With the economy on the slide, the Rams' management has allowed all 10 players whose contracts expire at the end of this season to leave. Coach Jorg Steinbrunner's deal will also not be renewed.

Instead, Woodlands will field a team of youngsters next year.
