Set up maritime museum in S'pore
Sun, Nov 23, 2008
The Straits Times

Several visiting guests from overseas have, over the years, expressed their surprise and disappointment to me that no maritime museum exists in Singapore, when I have had occasion to show them around the country.

Singapore is truly one of the world's great maritime centres and surely, now is the time to set up a museum worthy of the country's rich and historic maritime traditions?

Singapore's maritime tradition, its port and its culture as a trading centre, where East meets West, represent a compelling story.
