A TAIWANESE company has sued SingTel for infringing on its trademark by using the word 'mio' on goods and services such as mio TV.

In the High Court yesterday, Mitac International Corporation said it had sold technology products here since 2002 under its 'mio' brand.

It had registered two different 'mio' trademarks in Singapore, in 2003 and 2005. The registration covers the category of goods which include, among others, computers, personal digital assistants, cellphones and LCD televisions.
