THE High Court has found the publisher of the Wall Street Journal Asia (WSJA) to be in contempt of court for three articles it ran in June and July.

Dow Jones Publishing (Asia) has been ordered to pay a fine of $25,000, the highest meted out for such an offence in Singapore.

Justice Tay Yong Kwang, in passing judgment yesterday, said the case warranted a fine stiff enough to denounce the conduct of the Hong Kong-based newspaper, which he called a 'repeat offender', and deter future such transgressions.
