Christiane Amanpour, 50, a foreign correspondent of 25 years with CNN and now the network's chief international correspondent, has done much to speak out for those suffering persecution around the world.
The award-winning journalist, who has often reported from the world's most war-torn areas takes on a new challenge when she anchors a new nightly programme on CNN International next year. No details are set yet.
