Mall to train staff for free

WHEN a new mall in Orchard Road opens next year, it will have something no other shopping centre has: A training centre for the staff of its stores.

Retailers at 313@Somerset will be able to send workers for free courses on the finer points of dealing with customers, without forking out money for expensive consultants and transport to training centres.

The eight-storey mall is expected to have 180 retailers when it is completed. It will house mostly mid-range stores catering to 18- to 49-year-olds.
