U-Tapao airport: Tourists stranded in Bangkok who plan to fly out from here had better come prepared for a very long wait.

Chaos reigned yesterday at U-Tapao, the airport to which travellers are being diverted from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, now in the hands of anti-government protesters.

The place was clogged with sweaty people and luggage, crowds were spilling out onto the pavements, the computers were down and officials had to do manual check-ins.
