TVB lays off staff, no stars axed

Kong - TVB is feeling the chill of the global financial crisis.

The leading commercial broadcaster in Hong Kong is laying off 212 non-artistes and freezing the pay of artistes who are renewing their contracts, say reports.

TVB external affairs deputy-controller Tsang Sing Ming confirmed last Friday that termination letters would go out to employees today.
