Mamma Mia! sinks Titanic in UK

London - Mamma Mia! has outdone Titanic at the British box office.

The Abba-themed musical replaced the maritime romance as the highest-grossing movie released in Britain with £69.1 million (S$157 million) worth of tickets sold, Universal Pictures International said on Tuesday.

Titanic had taken ?69,025,646 by the time it had finished its cinema run in 1998.
