HANOI: It was a long way to Hanoi but will be a short trip home for the Lions.

The Singapore national football team had endured a tiring 10-hour trip to Hanoi, via Ho Chih Minh City, for the Asean Football Federation Suzuki Cup first leg, semi-final against Vietnam.

The Lions faced a similar return route but, thanks to the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and Singapore embassy officials in Hanoi, they will take a direct flight home today.
