A TOP cancer specialist will be leaving the public sector to set up Singapore's - and possibly the region's - first medical centre dedicated to the cancers that affect women.

Associate Professor Tay Eng Hseon, chairman of the medical board at KK Women's and Children's Hospital, will join hands with Thomson Medical Centre to set up the new venture by early next year.

He will also take on another role - as medical director of the China Healthcare group of hospitals, clinics, homes and home care services.
