SINGAPORE, get set for a bumper crop of mass-participation sporting events next year.

Nearly every weekend in the Ox year will be adrenalin-charged, with swimming, running, cycling or multi-sport races, of which at least six will be making their debut on the local calendar.

The Straits Times counted 78 such events this year alone, and that record will most certainly be smashed next year.
