THE wild and unpredictable swings in the drug industry are here to stay, the Economic Development Board's (EDB's) new director of biomedical sciences has said.

But Mr Beh Kian Teik explained that one should not be too worried because it does not tell the whole story about the pharmaceutical sector.

Mr Beh, who assumed his position in October last year, told The Straits Times that the notoriously volatile pharma output numbers are a 'technical part and parcel of the sector'.
