No fireworks in S'pore clubs

BY LAW, fireworks are not allowed to be set off inside nightclubs in Singapore.

According to the Dangerous Fireworks Act, fireworks can be set off only in an indoor stadium, theatre, auditorium, hotel ballroom or exhibition hall.

Nightclub operators also say that the use of fireworks would be too dangerous, especially in the presence of crowds, and sound and electrical equipment.
