Twice, Mr Harry Ng Kok Huat promised his wife that he would break off his affair with his lover Frances Leong Kit Jin.

Twice, he failed to do so.

Throughout the 11-year affair, Leong lavished gifts on Mr Ng - who is 21 years older - in the form of expensive clothing, watches, jewellery and even Chinese tea. She also picked up the tab when they went on holidays together.

She would always 'think of others'

Frances Leong Kit Jin was a person who would always 'think of others', and it was her bad luck to have met the wrong companion, said her elder brother.

The man, who wanted to be known only as Mr Leong, said that his sister was the third of four children and came from a close-knit family. But she was a private person who would not tell her family much about her personal affairs.

In fact, the family had briefly met Mr Harry Ng Kok Huat only once or twice, although she had known him for 12 years, Mr Leong said.
