SINGAPORE paddler Li Jiawei succumbed to long-time nemesis Zhang Yining in the semi-finals of the Tournament of Champions yesterday.

The Singaporean, ranked sixth in the world, got off to a good start when she took the first game in Changsha, China.

But Zhang, the world No. 1, eventually prevailed over her fellow Beijing Shichahai Sports School alumnus.
