SINGAPORE'S two public bus operators, SBS Transit and SMRT, yesterday announced a second round of fare cuts, of up to 20 cents a trip - this time for premium and other non-basic bus services.

Like Thursday's cuts to regular bus and train fares, this latest round of cuts will take effect on April 1 and will last 15 months, until the next fare-revision exercise, expected in July next year.

In all, fares for 71 non-basic services, mainly premium bus services, will be cut this time.

How much less trips will cost

  • Nite Owl services, which take late-night revellers home from downtown nightspots on Fridays, Saturdays and eves of public holidays - 5 cents to 20 cents less.
