Good reception for new Google phone

SALES of the new smartphone, more popularly known as the Google phone, have been good and are within expectations, SingTel said yesterday after its launch over the weekend.

The exclusive launch comes six months after Apple's keenly anticipated 3G iPhone came to town, also brought in by SingTel.

Since cellphone number portability - where users can switch between telcos but still retain the same number - was introduced last June, telcos have been kept on their toes retaining and wooing customers.
