KUALA LUMPUR: While saddened by the scandal surrounding opposition politician Elizabeth Wong, the Sultan of Selangor yesterday refused to get involved, leaving the state's Menteri Besar to decide on her political future.

After photos of her sleeping naked were circulated, Ms Wong, 37, from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), tearfully resigned as state assemblywoman and state executive councillor at a packed press conference on Feb 17.

But her supporters rejected her resignation, saying she has not committed any crime as she is a single non-Muslim woman.
