S. SUBRAMANI has always been known for his courage on the pitch and he showed it emphatically again yesterday.

Captaining Home United, the centre-back led the defence with gusto as P.N. Sivaji's men held on grimly for a slender 2-1 win over Vietnam's Binh Duong in their opening AFC Cup match.

The AFC Cup is the continent's second-tier club competition after the AFC Champions League.
