SHENZHEN: Singapore and Guangdong province can work together to ensure 'stringent supervision' of Chinese companies listed in Singapore, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said yesterday.

One way is for the Singapore Exchange (SGX) and Guangdong regulators to hold regular dialogues on the issue, MrGoh told reporters at the end of his five-day visit to the province.

Singapore would like to see more Chinese companies list on the SGX, he said. But he has emphasised to Chinese officials 'that it is not just a matter of listing in Singapore, but a matter of using Singapore to help build a reputation for Chinese companies'.
