A SHIP engineer died after he apparently fell from a ship undergoing maintenance in Admiralty yesterday afternoon.

It is believed 28-year-old Ang Wee Chia, a Singaporean, was removing a plank on a drill ship at Sembawang Shipyard when he lost his footing and fell into a hole about 8m deep.

He was rescued and taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital after the incident, which happened at about 4pm. Doctors later pronounced him dead from multiple injuries.
