The Straits Times

A TEENAGER who injured himself after setting off a small bomb on board a public bus was placed on 18 months of probation by a Community Court yesterday.

Christopher Ko Zi Jie was also ordered to remain indoors between 11pm and 6am, and his parents had to sign a bond to ensure his good behaviour.

The 17-year-old Institute of Technical Education student, who suffers from autism, pleaded guilty last month to setting off a firecracker pen on an SBS Transit bus along Jalan Toa Payoh on Oct 30 last year. He was also convicted of having a homemade pen-gun firing device at his Clementi home, which was found by police that same evening.
