Sleeper hit movie Taken, which has grossed over US$140 million (S$211 million) at the United States box office, has proved a thriller with audiences in Singapore, too.

The 94-minute French movie opened here last Thursday, debuting at No. 3 at the local box office.

In the US, the film - about vigilante Bryan Mills (played by Liam Neeson) in search of his kidnapped teenage daughter in Paris - opened in January at No. 1 and stayed in the top three for five consecutive weeks.
