IN THE world of table tennis, she might not be as big a name as teammates Li Jiawei, Feng Tianwei or Wang Yuegu.

But, like the Olympic silver medal-winning trio, Yu Mengyu proved that she has what it takes to win on the big stage.

She reached the last-16 of the World Table Tennis Championships women's singles yesterday after upsetting Austrian world No. 13 Liu Jia 7-11, 11-7, 11-7, 13-11, 11-3.
