SINGAPORE'S athletes have been told to stay at home because of the global Influenza A (H1N1) outbreak.

Following the government's move to raise the flu alert from Yellow to Orange on Thursday, the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) issued the travel advisory, urging all athletes and sports officials to avoid travelling overseas.

Some national sports associations (NSAs) have already cancelled travel plans, while others may skip upcoming events like the Arafura Games, the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships and badminton's Sudirman Cup.
