JAKARTA: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has chosen central bank governor Boediono to be his running mate in the July presidential polls, the Democratic Party's coalition partners say.

In fact, they are even getting dressed for success - the pair went to the tailor together to get matching attire for the official announcement in Bandung, West Java, on Friday, according to a report on Detik.com news website yesterday.

An envoy from the presidential palace informed coalition partners on Monday that Dr Yudhoyono will appoint Mr Boediono as his vice-presidential candidate, but some coalition partners are not happy about the choice. 'We were told about the choice of Pak Boediono but we have expressed our reservations about the decision,' Mr Anis Matta, the secretary-general of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), told The Straits Times yesterday.
