SAF commando killed during S. Africa exercise

A SINGAPORE Armed Forces commando was killed in a parachuting accident in South Africa yesterday morning.

First Warrant Officer (1WO) Tan Poh Eng, 53, was killed during a freefall training exercise in the city of Bloemfontein.

He was part of a six-man team conducting a formation jump from a Republic of Singapore Air Force C-130 aircraft when the tragedy occurred.
