A FORMER taxi driver was jailed for 10 years yesterday for kidnapping a 60-year-old woman, her two-year-old granddaughter and their 23-year-old maid.

Au Gan Chye, 55, had pleaded guilty in March to abducting the trio and forcing the woman to withdraw $50,000 from her account at a bank in Hougang.

He mainly played the role of a driver while his accomplice, fellow cabby Neo Soon Joo, hatched the plan and threatened the three hostages.
