The orange-flavoured cognac Grand Marnier from France gives a B52 cocktail extra kick, and often flavours desserts such as crepe suzette and souffle.

But according to Alexandra MarnierLapostolle, 51, great-granddaughter of the creator of the liqueur, the best way to enjoy it is icy cold and straight from the freezer.

She adds that ice in the drink dilutes its flavour.
