China held by Pakistan

A DEFIANT Pakistan stood tall against China in yesterday's Asian Youth Games football Group B encounter, holding the fancied Chinese to a 0-0 draw.

With China coming off a 7-3 rout of Myanmar in their opening fixture of the Under-14 tournament, few would have given Pakistan - a nation known more for its hockey than football - any chance at Temasek Polytechnic.

However, the Pakistanis took the game to their opponents and had their fair share of chances in an open game.
