Day off for maids? Bosses raise ruckus

BY MOST counts, freelance media consultant Suri Abdullah is a model maid employer.

The mother of two gives her Indonesian maid Yani her own television set in her room, does not make her work after dinner and takes her on vacation with the family.

When the maid damages electrical appliances in the home, Ms Suri does not flinch. 'I can't blame her. She does not use these things in her village,' she said.
