THE Singapore Red Cross is sounding the alert on bogus fund-raisers who are offering free Casio G-shock watches for a $25 donation to the charity.

The charity was first alerted to the scam in May when a member of the public called to complain that the watch he got was fake and not even in working condition.

The Red Cross is the second charity in about three months to be targeted by con artists out to fleece the public in the name of charity.
