KUALA LUMPUR: Top leaders of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) moved into damage control mode yesterday, after its members squabbled for days over local issues in Kedah and Penang that have weakened the opposition alliance.

PR chief Anwar Ibrahim met Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS) and gave the assurance that all issues will be resolved.

He also gave his support to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng in resolving a local Indian community issue, and dealing with some unhappiness among Penang's Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
