No let-up in complaints over voters' list as polling nears

JAKARTA: Although polling is just days away, claims over errors in the electoral rolls have continued unabated, with charges of inflated voters' list and complaints that the names of millions of voters are not in the register.

The General Election Commission (KPU), which is entrusted to run the presidential polls on Wednesday, has remained adamant that it has fixed the problematic electoral roll.

Said Mr Arief Wibowo of the campaign team for Ms Megawati Sukarnoputri and running mate Prabowo Subianto: 'We view with concern how the presidential poll is going to take place with so many problems with the list. We will be sceptical of the result.'
