BUDAPEST: Hungary is a country of surprises. One is that a leading Singapore firm owns the single largest capital investment there of any Asian company.

With about US$650 million (S$944 million) invested in the country so far, Singapore companies headline a slew of investments from Asia as Hungary bids to become a hub for businesses eyeing the European market.

And Hungarian officials want it known that their country continues to welcome foreign capital with open arms.
