Portal on rehiring older staff

SMALL businesses in Singapore have been slow to introduce policies to re-employ their older workers, mainly because they are engrossed with keeping their firms afloat amid the global downturn.

To hasten the pace, a Web portal has been set up by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Asme).

The portal - www.preparecommunity.com - was launched yesterday.
