Teen in the dock over mosque fire

A 14-YEAR-OLD schoolboy was charged in a juvenile court yesterday with torching a newly renovated mosque, causing more than $1 million in damage.

No plea was taken from the teenager, who was sporting a crewcut.

The boy, who cannot be named, is accused of setting fire to the Kampong Siglap mosque at Marine Parade Road with a lighter at about 1.15pm on Tuesday.
