Cha-am (Thailand): The return this month of former general and premier Chavalit Yongchaiyudh to politics and to a party aligned with former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, has set Thai political circles abuzz.

The responses have ranged from dismissing General Chavalit, 77, as a has-been to speculation that his entry could be a game-changer.

Within days of joining the opposition Puea Thai party, Gen Chavalit made waves by meeting Cambodian Premier Hun Sen.
