THE road to Jalan Besar Stadium was never straight and smooth but Geylang United proved that the bumpy ride will not deter them from staging upset after upset.

In yesterday's Singapore Cup final, the Eagles ended their eight-year silverware drought by hoisting the 12 kg trophy aloft, having taken the less scenic path.
