Plotters will face sanctions

LAWYERS who plot to expose rivals' wrongdoings and then report them for disciplinary action will now also be subject to sanction.

The Law Society gave notice that from next month, moves to entrap fellow professionals may open lawyers to disciplinary action under the Legal Profession Act.

But the Society made it clear that lawyers who fall prey to such tactics will not be spared an investigation into their alleged offences. Evidence obtained through any ruse will also be used.
