A 30-MINUTE meeting between United States President Barack Obama and Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono yesterday ended with both leaders pledging closer ties, and a visit by Mr Obama and his family to Indonesia next year.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mr Obama said he hoped to take First Lady Michelle Obama and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, with him to Indonesia.
